KEYT-TV is a television station located in Santa Barbara, California. It first signed on the air in 1953 and originally carried programming from all four major networks: ABC, CBS, DuMont, and NBC. In 1964, the station lost its NBC affiliation to KCOY in nearby Santa Maria, and began sharing CBS programming with KCOY. However, in 1969, the inclusion of San Luis Obispo County in the Santa Barbara-Santa Maria market resulted in KEYT becoming an exclusive ABC affiliate, with KCOY taking on the CBS affiliation and KSBY in San Luis Obispo becoming the NBC affiliate. KEYT has been known for its local news programming, which it has branded as KEY News, for several decades.
