About KXDF
KXDF is a television station that began broadcasting on August 7, 1996 under the call sign K13XD. It was the sixth television station to serve the area, and began operations four months after KTVF, a longstanding CBS affiliate, switched to NBC. This means that before KXDF started broadcasting, the area did not have a dedicated CBS affiliate, and viewers had to rely on KTVF (which had switched to NBC) or KFXF (a Fox affiliate) to access CBS programming.KXDF was owned by the Tanana Valley Television Company, which also owned KFXF, a Fox affiliate. This meant that KXDF and KFXF were both owned by the same company and operated as part of the same organization. It's not clear what the relationship was between KXDF and KFXF in terms of programming and content, but it's possible that KXDF may have aired some Fox programming in addition to its CBS programming.
